Our Story

We believe the most meaningful experiences begin with connection—because connection to the brand you choose matters.

Hi, I'm Jaimie 🤍

(Yes… spelled with two i's. I know.)

I’m a proud girl mom of two, living in Suffolk County, New York. These days, I like to describe myself as “chewy.” Not crunchy granola. Not extreme. Just realistic—for me and for my family’s lifestyle.

Because the truth is, in today’s world, it’s nearly impossible to eliminate every toxin—and I won’t pretend that I do. But I am on a mission to reduce what we can, to create safer, more affordable swaps, and to lower the everyday chemical load in a way that actually feels doable. At the same time, I believe those choices can still feel beautiful. My goal is to offer thoughtfully made, beautifully presented products that help families make better decisions—without the overwhelm.

How SLTM Started

My passion for a low tox lifestyle didn’t start as a trend—it started as a necessity. I spent 12 years in New York City as a special education teacher, a career I truly loved and felt deeply passionate about.

After difficult pregnancies and deliveries with my two daughters, a severe concussion, along with repeated exposure to COVID-19, the flu, and other viruses, my health began to decline. I was ultimately diagnosed with several autoimmune diseases, a soft connective tissue disorder, Dysautonomia, and additional chronic conditions. These challenges left me disabled and unable to continue the career I had worked so hard to build.

What followed was one of the most difficult seasons of my life. But through that darkness, I found a turning point. I knew I had to shift my mindset and use this life change as an opportunity to rebuild in a new way. I began reevaluating everything—and realized that in order to support my healing, what I was putting on my body and bringing into my home needed to change.

This business was born from that season.

Our Story

During that time in my healing journey, I began researching and slowly transitioning to a low tox lifestyle. I knew I needed to start removing the things in my home that could be negatively impacting my health—but I took it one step at a time. I swapped out certain cookware, cleaning products, foods, and beverages, and eventually began replacing my home and beauty products as well.

What I quickly realized was how expensive this lifestyle could be. Instead of constantly purchasing products and questioning every ingredient, I started seeking out simple, pure recipes and began creating my own. As I did, friends and family became curious—they would ask what I was using and how I was feeling, and soon enough, they were asking me to make products for them too.

By November 2024, I finally felt well enough to create small batches each day, building up a collection for the holiday season. At the time, I saw it as something temporary—just a way to get through what felt like a heavy season. But a year later, customers began reaching out, asking if I would be selling again and if I had anything new coming. That moment reignited something in me. During my early years of diagnosis and recovery, I had lost a part of my creativity—and I didn’t realize how much I missed it until it came back. That’s when I truly fell in love with the calming, creative process of soap making. I started with just four custom scents, and the response was overwhelming. The encouragement, excitement, and feedback gave me the confidence to keep going and begin building something real.

Around that same time, I connected with a friend who was also building a business in the wellness space. She believed in my products, encouraged my creativity, and introduced me to a community of like-minded women. Through those connections, I was invited to participate in my very first boutique—and I knew it was time to choose a name.

I wanted something that reflected a homestead feel, even though my life here on Long Island is anything but that. Most importantly, I wanted the name to represent my “why”—my two daughters. Being their mom is everything to me, and I wanted this brand to feel like home for other families, too.

I was incredibly nervous at my first show—truly beyond nervous. It had been a long time since I had the energy to get dressed up and put myself out there. But within those two hours, I was met with nothing but kindness, support, and positive feedback. That experience gave me the confidence to move forward.

And that’s how Suburban Low Tox Mom LLC was born in December 2025.
